When we were approached to bring the Charm City Bluegrass Fall Throwdown to Key, we said heck ya.
Bluegrass is a genre of music that lends itself perfectly to beer and Dundalk. Historically in the 1950s Dundalk was a hotbed of bluegrass music as workers at local factories and mills including Bethlehem Steel would often have roots in Appalachia and would bring with them their history and culture.
Despite the wet weather during the weekend, fans got to enjoy the best in national and regional music on two outdoors stages when the weather cooperated and in the brewery as an impromptu acoustic set when the weather took a tun for the worse.
The fans got to enjoy the signature beer for the weekend, “Earthy Mamma” a Chocolate, Rye Hemp porter in collaboration with Charm City Bluegrass. The beer was a smashing success and will be brewed for a second time due to its popularity. And if you don’t want to wait, there are a few more 6 packs down at the brewery while supplies last!
For all that attended, thank you! For all that did not, you missed an epic time and we hope to see you next fall.
